Cassidy McDonald
Cassidy has dedicated most of her adult life to helping people and their families, navigate through trauma, grief, addiction and recovery. With 25 years of personal sobriety, mentorship and sponsorship, her lived experience informs her professional qualifications. She has worked in the addictions and recovery field for decades, including many years as the General Manager of the Orchard Recovery Centre on Bowen Island, BC. Cassidy has mentored countless addicts into recovery, and her degrees in psychology and liberal arts (UBC and SFU respectively) provided the foundation for her work across varying ages, socio-economic scales, ethnicities, and nationalities.
She has served on various boards of directors in the addictions field, volunteered in the DTES and provided recovery consulting and coaching for private clients. Her gifts lie in connecting with those in darkness. Her ability to give hope, guidance and safety, supports them to grow and find their next steps. Cassidy’s ability to bring compassion, honesty and relatability when most needed has proven to reach her clients in very precarious times and is the key to her success in this industry.
