Mitra is a highly skilled therapist with specializations in adolescent mental health and family therapy.
Educated and trained extensively in London England, she has been working for over a decade within community organizations and hospitals across the lower mainland providing acute mental health services to children, youth and families, and working alongside community partners such as MCFD, CYMH teams, schools, family practitioners, hospitals and inpatient facilities.
Mitra’s broad and diverse education and international life experiences, have informed an expansive, confident and non-judgemental approach to her clients, that is grounded in solid theoretical framework that includes but is not limited to:
Systems Theory; Strategic and Structural Family Therapy; Attachment, Regulation, and Competency Framework; Cognitive Behaviour Therapy; Dialectic Behaviour Therapy; Acceptance and Compassion Therapy; and Attachment theory and trauma informed practice.
Born In Tehran, now a long time resident of the North Shore and a mother to two incredible children now in young adulthood, Mitra will work with adolescents and families with warmth and the clinical skill to meet the needs of families in crisis from assessment to effective treatment outcomes.
